Clubhouse update!

Seaglassvillage March 4th, 2010

I happened to have a chance to run out to the Clubhouse this morning, and look what I saw!  Cabinets being installed in the Library room on either side of the fireplace!

I would expect by tomorrow afternoon this room will look ALOT different!  If you have the weekend free, why don’t you take a ride and come check out the progress yourself?  The weekend weather looks AMAZING- sunny and 40+ degrees.  Perfect weather to get thinking about your summertime fun!

We are open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 10 am to 4 pm and at other times by appointment.  We’d love to see you!

Welcome MARCH!

Seaglassvillage March 2nd, 2010

windy

March came in like a LION-

Hopefully it will go out like a LAMB!

Well, it’s Wednesday and it’s my Saturday.

As you can tell, I got my power, internet and cable back at home.  I am posting from my kitchen.   THANK GOODNESS!

Now for a work week update:

As you probably already know, we just opened for the 2010 sales season on February 12th.  We placed an ad in the Boston Globe Magazine, and also in Yankee Magazine recently.   As a result- I have recieved over 75 email inquiries for information regarding ownership at Seaglass Village!  Last weekend, despite the weather, we had 8 new couples visit the property and take a tour of the community.  A great start to the season considering it was still February!

As I mentioned above, we are closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays;  I am back in the Office Thursday to do paperwork, and we are open for walk-in tours this Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 am to 4 pm.  If you haven’t been to the property yet- we’d LOVE to meet you.  If you’ve already been to the property, come back and see us again.  Things are really moving along!  If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a cottage there is no better time than now.

Hope to see you soon!

Oh the weather outside is FRIGHTFUL- but Seaglass Village is SO Delightful!

Seaglassvillage February 28th, 2010

Sorry it has been a couple of days since I posted.

Usually, I draft my posts when I am at home, and unfortuneately, I’ve been without power since Thursday night when I got home from a York Chamber of Commerce Icebreaker Event.

I’m not REALLY complaining, mind you, because it could be a lot worse.  The weather here on Thursday was CRAZY; whipping winds, lots of rain, and you could hear the wave action from the Clubhouse Building here at Seaglass Village.  But despite all that wicked weather, we have power, and heat, and internet here at 1 Old County Road, in Wells Maine.

At home in York, however, is another story.  My husband has his LOUD,  HONKING generator going.  We have our furnace running, hot water, and our refrigerator is going.  It’s not freezing cold out, and we do have a wood stove and candles and flashlights.  No house phone, no internet, can’t do laundry, can’t cook much, (take out pizza and heating up canned soup on the wood stove is getting old) and no Olympics~  I confess, that is truly what I am missing, the BOOB TUBE!  Last night, I attempted to read a book; I tried to hold the book up to a candle, but with my poor eyesight that didn’t work.  Then I tried to juggle a flashlight under my chin, but that lasted all of 5 minutes before I got cranky.  Then, my stepdaughter and husband were watching a DVD ~ Ocean’s 11 (I think) and I have seen it before, so I just fell asleep on the couch.  One good thing with no power, I’m getting in my zzzz’s!

Well, back to work.  We are very comfortable here at Seaglass Village.  Heat’s on. Coffee’s on.  Lights are on.  Why don’t you stop by and help break up my quiet day by taking a tour of the Village?  We’d love to show you around!

We are here until 4 pm today.  It’s not raining………  I’ll even throw in a tour of the Clubhouse under construction……….Maybe even bake some cookies for you?

Hope to see you soon- and I hope you have POWER!

Windy, Windy, Windy

Cottages look GREAT- some small branches in the roadways and on driveways, but other than that- We weathered the STORM!

Today is sunny at the moment- come see us- Here today (and all weekend :) ) from 10 to 4…

Have a great Friday!

How do I love thee?

Seaglassvillage February 15th, 2010

”How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…”
by Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861)

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, — I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! — and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

One of my favorite holidays is Valentines Day.  My friends and family think that I am “corny”, but I like to say that I am just in love with LOVE!

I would have posted this blog yesterday, but we have been VERY BUSY being open our first offical weekend of 2010.  At last count, we took 23 people through the property in the last 2 days, and we are open today for tours from 10 am to 4 pm.  If you stop by, be sure to add your name into the drawing for the $75.00 gift certificate to Joshua’s Restuarant, one of our local favorites!

I hope that your Valentines Day was full of hugs, smiles and LOVE!
